QLD: Former father of the year faces jail for sodomy

A former Queensland father of the year who molested the sons of war heroes at a prestigious
all-boys' school is facing a jail term.

Former Brisbane Anglican Church Grammar School teacher FREDERICK ROY HOSKINS will be
sentenced next month after pleading guilty to 16 child sex offences dating back to the
1940s and 50s.

HOSKINS worked at the school for 40 years and sexually abused seven students aged between
nine and 15 when he was a boarding house master in his early 20s and 30s.

The abuse was hidden for 44 years.

But the now 80-year-old faces a maximum eight year jail term, likely to be spent in
a prison infirmary with 24 hour medical assistance.

Crown prosecutor REBECCA CHRISTENSEN has told Brisbane's District Court that HOSKINS
must serve at least two to three years before being considered for parole.

Judge JULIE DICK has remanded HOSKINS in custody until his sentencing on May the 7th.
