Vic: Police call for public help to track down prisoner

MELBOURNE, Jan 13 AAP - Police today appealed for public help in tracking down a potentiallydangerous prisoner who escaped while on day-release, leading to the suspension of theprogram for all jail inmates.

David Blyth, 29, ran away from a prison guard who accompanied him on a visit, reportedlywith his girlfriend, at a house in Melton, in Melbourne's outer west.

Victoria police today appealed for public help to find not only Blyth but a woman associate,29-year-old Clara Ranieri, who is also missing.
